Dr. Rosalind O’Shaughnessy is an Accident and Emergency Consultant working in central London.
Rosalind studied mathematics and philosophy at Oxford and later went on to study medicine. She began her medical training at Guy’s Hospital in London but transferred to, and graduated from, U.C.L.A. in Los Angeles where she worked in a number of hospitals over eight years.
She is a fellow of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine, U.K.
Throughout her career she has combined clinical work with medical advice for films, television, radio and books. In 2011 Rosalind was awarded a place on the BBC Drama Writers Academy, the BBC’s major initiative aimed at discovering and training the next generation of writers for BBC One’s flagship shows.
With a special interest in preventative health and public health education, she also produces health promotion films which aim to entertain and provide cinematic educational material that will encourage healthy living and prevent illness.
In her hospital work she is currently Trust Tutor for non-trainee doctors and Advanced Life Support medical director. She has various departmental roles including being the lead for the CESR rotational programme, toxicology, domestic violence, frequent attenders and learning disability.
